We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be fair while also protecting the sustainability of a small, seasonal business.

• All deposits are non-refundable

• Refund policy for the Casa Portal Retreat Package: Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the retreat are eligible for a refund, transfer to another guest, or credit toward a future retreat, at Casa Portal’s sole discretion, minus the deposit and any incurred costs

• Cancellations within 0-29 days of the retreat are non-refundable

• Hosted Retreats and Trainings: For retreats and trainings hosted in collaboration or by external teachers, registrations are 100% non-refundable unless otherwise stated by the host. Exceptions may be considered in the case of extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of Casa Portal.

• If Casa Portal cancels the retreat for Casa Portal hosted and co-hosted retreats in which payments where made through Casa Portal all payments will be refunded.

Emergency Circumstances (Within 7 Days of the Retreat)

In the case of unexpected or emergency circumstances within 7 days of the retreat:

• Requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

• The deposit remains non-refundable

• Supporting documentation may be requested where appropriate

• Any exception, including partial refund or credit, is granted solely at Casa Portal’s discretion and must be confirmed in writing

Serious Illness Policy for Casa Portal Retreat Center + Casa Portal Co-Creation Retreats. If you have tested positive for a serious illness within 72 hours of your arrival, your stay will be rebooked within 6 months. Proof of positive test results is required. No refunds will be given. If the Federal Government imposes restrictions regarding the services we offer and your arrival date is within 29 days or less, your booking will be rescheduled within 6 months. No refunds will be given. If the Federal Government re-instates proof of immunization without 30 days notice and you do not meet the requirements for a previously confirmed booking, you may transfer your reservation to another guest or for another retreat within 6 months.

Casa Portal is a small, shared living environment. The experience here depends on the wellbeing of the group as a whole.

By attending, you agree to:

• Make responsible and good-faith decisions regarding your health prior to travel

• Refrain from attending if you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness (including, but not limited to, fever, flu-like symptoms, or other communicable conditions)

If Illness Arises

Casa Portal reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

• Decline entry to guests who arrive visibly unwell

• Require a guest to leave the property if they become ill or present a risk to others during the retreat

In such cases:

• Refunds are not guaranteed

• Any partial refund or credit will be considered solely at Casa Portal’s discretion.

• The deposit remains non-refundable

• Guests are responsible for any costs associated with early departure, including travel and accommodations

Casa Portal reserves the right to:

• Modify retreat schedules, accommodations, or facilitators as needed

• Cancel or reschedule a retreat due to circumstances beyond our control. This includes low participant bookings 30 days prior to the event.

If this occurs:

• Guests may be offered a transfer, credit, or alternative option

• Casa Portal is not responsible for additional travel or personal expenses

Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance.

Travel insurance may provide coverage for:

• Illness prior to travel

• Flight disruptions or delays

• Personal emergencies or unforeseen changes

Casa Portal is not responsible for any costs incurred outside of the retreat itself.

By attending, you acknowledge that participation in retreat activities—including movement, workshops, farm and outdoor experiences, and shared living—carries inherent risks.

You agree to:

• Participate voluntarily and at your own risk

• Take responsibility for your physical, emotional, and personal wellbeing

• Participate within your own limits and exercise personal judgment

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless Casa Portal LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, and facilitators from any and all liability for:

• Injury or illness

• Loss, theft, or damage to personal property

• Any incidents, accidents, or claims arising out of or related to your participation or presence on the property

Casa Portal makes no guarantees regarding personal, physical, or emotional outcomes resulting from participation in any retreat or program

Casa Portal is both a home and a shared retreat space.

Guests agree to:

• Respect the land, animals, home, and fellow guests

• Participate in the shared environment with awareness and care

• Follow all safety guidance provided during the stay

Casa Portal reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to require a guest to leave if behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or not aligned with the shared experience. In such cases, refunds are not guaranteed.

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during their stay.

Casa Portal operates as an alcohol-free retreat environment.

The use of alcohol or illegal substances on the property is not permitted. Guests agree to respect the shared container and environment.

Casa Portal is a historic farmhouse property, originally built in the 1840s, with additional buildings and natural terrain.

• The property is not fully ADA-compliant or accessible

• Certain areas include stairs, uneven ground, narrow doorways, and varied terrain

Guests acknowledge these conditions as part of the experience.

Casa Portal will consider accommodation requests on a case-by-case basis; however, not all needs can be met.

Casa Portal includes a natural, spring-fed pond on the property.

• There is no lifeguard on duty

• Swimming is at your own risk

Guests assume full responsibility for their safety in and around the water.

Casa Portal is not liable for any injuries or incidents related to pond use.

Casa Portal is a working farm and home to animals.

• Animals are part of daily life on the property

• Most animals are kept within fenced or designated areas; however, complete separation cannot be guaranteed

Guests agree to:

• Interact with animals respectfully and follow staff guidance

• Not approach, feed, or handle animals without permission

Casa Portal is not responsible for any injury, allergic reaction, or incident involving animals.

Casa Portal is located on working land in rural Maine.

Guests acknowledge the presence of:

• Wildlife

• Insects, including ticks and mosquitoes

• Natural terrain and environmental conditions

These are inherent aspects of the environment.

Guests are responsible for taking appropriate precautions.

Casa Portal is not liable for any injury, illness, or condition resulting from exposure to the natural environment.

Casa Portal partners with independent facilitators.

• Facilitators are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Casa Portal

• They are solely responsible for the content and delivery of their programming

Casa Portal is not responsible for:

• The outcomes of any retreat

• Any advice, instruction, or services provided by facilitators

Casa Portal may capture photo, video, or audio content on the property during retreats for the purpose of sharing the experience of the land, the space, and daily life here. This may include general scenes, group moments, and the natural environment.

We are mindful that this is a personal and shared experience, and we aim to do this in a way that is respectful and unobtrusive. Guests who prefer not to be included in any identifiable content are welcome to let us know in advance or at any time during their stay, and we will do our best to accommodate those preferences.

By attending, you acknowledge that incidental inclusion in group or environmental content may occur. Casa Portal retains the right to use such content for marketing and promotional purposes.

Entire Agreement. These terms and conditions and any other legal notices, policies and guidelines of Casa Portal linked to these terms and conditions or contained on this Site constitute the entire Agreement between you and Casa Portal relating to your use of this Site and supersede any prior understandings or agreements (whether oral or written), claims, representations, and understandings of the parties regarding such subject matter. This Agreement may not be amended or modified except by Casa Portal.

Site Terms of Use Modifications. Casa Portal may revise these terms of use for its website at any time without notice. By using the Site, you are agreeing to be bound these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Limitation of Liability and Indemnity. In no event shall Casa Portal or its affiliates be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising out of the use or inability to view or use the materials or content on Site, even if Casa Portal has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.
