Frequently Asked Questions

RETREATS EXPERIENCES & EXPECTATIONS

  • No. Many guests are attending their first retreat. You do not need prior experience with meditation, yoga, or retreat culture. Casa Portal is designed to be welcoming, grounded, and approachable for people who are curious, not practiced. Our retreats support rest, presence, and exploration without performance.

  • No. All activities are optional. You’re welcome to participate in guided experiences, walk the land, nap, read, journal, or simply be present. There is no pressure to do everything on a schedule — rest and silence are part of the experience.

  • Most guests arrive solo. Many people come from all walks of life — creatives, caregivers, leaders in transition, entrepreneurs, people seeking nervous system reset — and community forms naturally through shared meals, time on the land, and unstructured moments together.

  • No. Casa Portal retreats are rooted in nature, rest, curiosity, and real-world integration. They are not intensive therapy or trauma programs.

  • Social silence is a designated quiet period each morning through the first scheduled session of the day. It is gentle, not rigid, and exists to support a mindful arrival and deeper presence.
