Casa Portal is a farmhouse retreat and farmstay in Midcoast Maine for groups of 10–20. It’s an intimate setting: guests stay in our restored farmhouse and meadow cabins, eat meals prepared by Chef Pete, and spend time on the trails, in the gardens, and around the farm.

You bring your group and lead the experience. We take care of accommodations, meals, and hospitality, and work with you on the details that make the retreat run smoothly. The best setup depends on your group size and how you plan to use the space.

Our restored farmhouse and four meadow cabins give your group a comfortable place to settle in, with room to gather, rest, and enjoy being on the farm.

  • Farmhouse: 7 guest rooms and 12 beds, with options for single or double occupancy

  • Meadow cabins: 4 A-frame cabins for guests who’d like a little more privacy

  • Bathrooms: 4 shared bathrooms in the farmhouse; there are no en-suite bathrooms. The cabins also have outdoor solar-powered bathroom facilities and showers.

  • Group size: 10 guest minimum

  • Rate: Start around $325 per person, per night. Which includes accommodations, Chef Pete’s farm-to-table meals, access to farm & amenities. Custom pricing is set based on groups headcount and full programming.

  • Season: Retreat rentals from May through November

We want Casa Portal to feel like a retreat home you can settle into. The farmhouse has been restored with that in mind: thoughtful design, comfortable rooms, collected decor, and the kind of hospitality that lets you feel at home while you’re here.

The farmhouse has 7 guest rooms, 12 beds, and 4 shared bathrooms, with rooms available for single or double occupancy. There are no en-suite bathrooms.

Our 4 A-frame cabins sit tucked into the meadows, a short walk from the house. They offer guests a little more space of their own, with simple solar power and outdoor solar-powered bathroom facilities. Cabin guests also have full use of the farmhouse facilities.

meals @ casa Portal

Food is a big part of the experience here. Chef Pete & his team create a farm-to-table menu for each retreat, drawing on what’s in season, what’s growing on the farm, and ingredients from local producers.

His menus reflects an international palate from places he’s been on retreats himself, his travels in India & Southeast Asia, grounded in his Hungarian routes, so the menu is never quite the same twice.

The per-person nightly rate includes three meals a day, plus afternoon tea and snacks. We’ll work with retreat leaders ahead of time to understand their group’s dietary needs.
