Our Story (Melissa & Pete)
We’re Melissa and Pete—lifelong travelers who found home in the stillness of this land. With backgrounds in media, food, and hospitality, we created Casa Portal as a space to offer what we ourselves needed: time, space, quiet, and connection.
Behind the Name
casa portal translates to “house of the portal”—a nod to the 1840s farmhouse at the heart of the land, and the many quiet trails, hidden nooks, and wild places it opens into. from this central hearth, guests pass through natural “portals” into silence, stillness, and the gentle mystery of the maine woods.
